Just in time for the new year, Andra sent us these images of a small bathroom that she gave a minor facelift to. The country nature of the vertical tongue and grove paneling was updated with the addition of our star patterned tin tiles. A combination that one wouldn’t normally think of when setting out to decorate a room but the results speak for themselves. An incredibly imaginative combination of old and new.

Old Long Syne, by James Watson (1711) asked the rhetorical question; “Should Old Acquaintances be forgot, and never thought upon”. I think this is a perfect example of updating the look without destroying the familiarity and coziness of a room. Dont be afraid to try something a little out of character when looking to update a room. And dont be afraid of leaving some of that rooms old style showing. The old and new look great together.

Cheers to the new year!
